Dear Readers,
after we have Maverick's underwater ship in February peeled completely, it was now after months of drying phase and several weekends einnehmener preparation finally go to the rebuilding. To which I say: Yay, because it was really time! Besides a huge role fiberglass mat the postman also brought recently a role Kevlar fabric (“Aramid”, improved me John ...), weil wir ja Bug, Want to strengthen keel and skeg. The plan for this Saturday looked like:

As a first step, Manfred has thus first primed the hull. We have special putty “Spabond 340” used by CTM, that looks like vanilla butter and stringy like the best chewing gum. The filling we have underestimated true! There was filling MUCH! After at least bow and keel front were done, John and I have applied the beastly aramid. We wanted to have everything in one lane, to transitions and thus avoid possible vulnerabilities, the mat but was kind of hard, that we had to cut through it again before the keel, because despite massive use of duct tape just would not stick to the boat. So much resin on it as it goes - and finished. The whole thing looks like a giant form of brought Maverick Tacoshell with extra cheese, because the yellow woven Kevlar mat is great and real gross.
Furthermore, we then another layer directly (somewhat wider, so that it overlaps) plastered the usual fiberglass mats. In the meantime, we had noticed, that we will not come with the role. 33 Meters were it, gave a brief account, that we are in a position to waste probably already over 25 Meters would need.
