Dear Readers,

in 24 Hours Cati and I sit on the boat. A cold beer in hand and a happy grin on his face. Two weeks of vacation ahead of us. Incomprehensible. A long time. So far I have taken throughout the year never more than a single day each holiday - and now so long. Real strong. Wir freuen uns riesig auf die vor uns liegende Zeit.

With us on board is my uncle and his friend Uwe. The three of us want to be on our way to the north. Where exactly is it, I will not tell. The reason for this secrecy: I myself have no idea, where we may sail. But if the Internet to reach up there at some ports is, I keep you updated.

Last weekend, Cati and I were in Missunde. Many readers may be where a term, from there to have my namesake Wilfried Erdmann started many great trips. So it was one of those trips, that led us there: At the 23. July 2001 was Wilfried and his “Kathena Nui” returned from the greatest travel, who has ever taken a German: 343 Days he sailed around the world against the prevailing wind directions, So in a zigzag course. Nonstop, without somewhere to go ashore, after from Cuxhaven. When he went ashore at that time, were several hundred enthusiastic admirers on the web - and I, then 15 Years old. A meeting, that changed my life and had a decisive way forward. Some years later, and I sail. My trip was much less earth-shattering, But for me it opened a new world. A world, which must now be to discover.

Ten years after the return of Wilfried's so, at the 23. July 2011, met a few dozen people in Missunde, to be there once again to remember Wilfred return. The evening was just beautiful. We met many interesting people, some of them even travel around the world, other adventurers. Almost casually told me a guest, that he once half a year when the designer “Gipsy Girl” lived at home (I learned MANY valuable things about our boat!), others told stories of her travels and from many areas, we must soon be time to get to by boat. Cati and what amazed me most: Asked instead of flowers and gifts for the young to donate a, would-be circumnavigator. Yesterday, Wilfried announced on its website (and at the same time by e-mail me), that we should get the proceeds! Wir sind total baff, can not believe our luck. And of course, grateful! Wilfried Astrid and I have been at that time, on my return trip from the Atlantic, great support - and now such a sweet gesture. Many thanks to you both - and of course all those, who have so generously donated money! We will use reasonable, more soon to set sail to.

Before we go on circumnavigation, However, now is the first trip to the north before. Tomorrow we go. Finally …
