Since Sunday afternoon swim in the muddy Elbe water the Maverick. After a few years ago I finally had the opportunity to sail single-handed a small piece – and have enjoyed the four days of very. Also, if it is safe in some places alone aboard a corner has been exhausting (such as at night in the many waterways or when I up from the Elbe estuary Glückstadt 12 Hours non-stop was at the wheel …). Now at least I got the slightest idea, as Wilfried Erdmann be adopted on its nonstop routes must: Nonstop from Cuxhaven through the Channel into the Atlantic – the costs and nerves sleep. Amazing, that he then 2001 so fit in Cuxhaven an Land kam.
This weekend will be over Maverick through the Kiel Canal. Here are some impressions of my first four days on board:
Until I can out into the North Sea with Maverick, however, is another day canal cruises, two locks and numerous bridges across the bow. In Wait (where the boat was waiting for me …) I have to take a detour, because a bridge is closed. The channel is always close …
… and sometimes I'm the Dutch, straight through the front yard. (The display of the sonar spins in this photo just by the turbulence in the water – so deep, the channel has not the same ;-))
Hinweisschild kurz vor Leeuwarden – almost like on the road.
Bridge operator is becoming increasingly unnecessary anfunken. Either he sees one, and opens by itself, or you can find buttons, sometimes with intercom, directly on the shore.
Großstadtkulisse in Leeuwarden.
Here we celebrate “Knut” apparently similar to that in Sweden. Only much later in the year …
Dokkum you do overnight just in the middle of the city firmly on the shore.
Toilets and showers are also available. Before (right) the machine for the demurrage.
Break the bank. At regular intervals there are such resting places, where they may be free up to three days.
This is such a place. But someone has built a railing on the bridge and thus made it unusable. Perhaps the yacht harbor in the background? 😉
Slowly, I meet more and more German boats on the way.
Finally on the North Sea – the wind pilot steers wonderfully immediately! 🙂

At 3-4 Wind speeds for the first time I put the Parasailor, to me Dirk Menne wiping
has lent. A big thing, by Maverick instantly absorbs an enormous journey. When the sun goes down, everything is still good. The many waterways in the Weser- and estuary and fresh wind to power 7 I was then but it still tasted pretty power …
… until the next afternoon, shortly after 15 The clock lines to the floating dock in Gluckstadt landed. Done.
