Once a loop and back…

As soon as I'm sailed, I'm already back. 27 Hours, I was just today and saw 53,9 Miles traveled. Not a bad cut for little Anna Belle, I think.

My short trip Sunday afternoon led me out into the Baltic Sea and about 25 Miles later into the loop. For three years now I have not been there in a boat, the first single-handed at that time with our Shark 24 (2003), The next few times with the Maverick and now for the first time with Annabelle. After a beautiful sailing day with plenty of sunshine and about 2-3 Bft I then just prior to the Schlei estuary Schleimünde (The name says yes!) again really get a cap on: Suddenly, thick clouds, a rumble in the distance, then pattering rain and flashes of lightning in the south and pulling on me to. So sail down, Motor on and off you in the loop! Had come as soon as the storm, It was then again passed, as I passed the lighthouse Schleimünde and chugged up the loop.

Is about to Kappeln on the right side of the yard “Henningsen and Steckmest”, in which I since my first visit 2003 very happy to lie. There are churning produces yachts with fiberglass hull and wooden superstructure, Type “Scales”. Great view from the boat already, But I would be the maintenance costs of the timber, how can we see from the photo, too large.

Kappeln itself has not changed much – still is the place beautifully idyllic. At the port in recent years it has apparently built a city marina, may lie directly in the one on the Promenade. After a tour of the city where I have settled for a while with pizza and beer, before it went back to Annabelle. Once there was the sporting part of the evening, the same time the “Sport” on motor boating is: The container hauling. Armed with two 5 Liter cans I went to 2-3 Kilometers from petrol station, to bunker fuel, because it would be dull. Back on board I could get my euphoria over the “be on the road again” recognize it, as I shut the boat entirely absent:

The next morning started for me to 5.50 Clock, although the alarm clock only to 6.00 Clock rang: The sun woke me up. After a couple of coffee's (where I ran out of gas…) more quickly to buy bread in the city and already I chugged against 9 Clock against the wind up the loop, sat in front Schleimünde the sails and headed for Kiel. Annabelle had to fight pretty, to get through the large and particularly short waves of the Baltic Schlei estuary. You get an impression in this video:

In the course of the day asleep once again the wind and at times I even had to be run with the engine, I had an evening appointment at Kiel and had to be back in time. The Sun said it really well and in the evening, I learned even, that it should be the hottest day of the year.

Back in Kiel, the Conclusions: The loop is still a really nice sail single-handed goal and I can still! 😉

Tomorrow we go again – this time for two.
